Swapping 06 leather seats

I just picked up a 02 LS Trailblazer and it has cloth seats. Im pondering if I can swap in 06 heated leather seats.. Is the plug like already there already? Or do I have to do some wiring of some sort? Did the bolt pattern change between early years and late model years for the seats? Does anyone have a diagram? And the buttons, do I have to cut the panel and install another button?

Were side airbags standard on all trim levels? My 04 LT with leather seats has the seat mounted airbags, but I'm pretty sure I've seen photos of cloth seats with a dummy cover where mine has the airbags.

I believe the seat design was slightly different for 05, so maybe that's when they changed, I guess this is a good question for those with 05s or 06s.

My 05 has cloth seats, and no side air bags, and nothing in the pillars.

You have to hack the wiring, and you'll have switches.

When I put power seats from an 02 in my 04 non power, I had to run wiring to power the seats. Seeing as how the heated seats have switches, I'd suspect you have to run wiring for them to work properly. Should be relatively easy, though.

My '06 has cloth seats and no side air bags. If your passenger seat is motorized, it might have something part of the wire harness, which I don't have mine. Don't you have an '06 envoy though?

All I can tell you for certain as far as airbags, both of my cloth 03's have them in the seat side, and the 06 they are in the pillar and is cloth also. May be a trim package deal but I doubt it. There'd be more research to do to be sure, but I know they made a change in the seats around 04, 05 or 06.

02 seats are a direct swap to a 06.
but in order to put 06 seats in a 02, you have to buy drilled and slotted brake lines, synthetic blinker fluid and add a second transfer case to the rear axle that has to be converted to a dually with 8.51 gearing

Does it have to be exact on the gearing? Rightnow I have 7.51 and I think the seats might fit.

You can use the 7.51, but only if you have 24" rockstars with electrical tape for tires

From what I can find, they changed the seats in 06. Prior to, the airbag is in the panel on the side of the seat, 06 and on they removed the airbag from the seat and placed it in the pillar.

While this is a direct bolt in as far as from the 06 to your vehicle, you will lose side airbag function and your airbag light will come on. It is up to you whether or not you inform your insurance company of the loss of side airbag. The light can likely be tricked into going out with the proper wiring as you'll have to change some for the heating anyways.

It's fully up to you on how you work it, but we've had enough people wreck their 360's to not consider the safety implications of not having your side airbags. As this site typically does not recommend modifications that are not safe, I'm surprised at how some of you are taking to efforts of ensuring he evaluates what he's trying to do from all stand points and not just the convenience of comfort.
