Wedco repair help

Dumping ground for offroad Trailblazer or Envoy general discussion.

by Zero » Thu Jan 21, 2010 6:20 pm

Hey guys, I have one of the older non child proof military style Jerry cans from Wedco. I noticed that the rubber gasket on my spout has started to crack and going bad, as well as the seal on the lid that is attached to the can its self. Where do I go to get new gaskets? I tried a google search, and left a message with Wedco, asfter getting their number from Brigs and Stratton.

any suggestions?

thanx!

I know I've seen this discussed at Expedition Portal. Don't recall the answers though.

Maybe Ill just have to find a large piece of gasket and cut my own replacement. Seems kinda stupid that no one makes any kind of repair kit. There are sooo many of these out there.

ExPo is the place to search. IIRC, somebody in Florida made a die to cut them. Try a search for wedco or nitrile.

Thanx Roadie! I did a search and found a site that sells some wedco stuff.

Here is a link to buy the 10L Jerry can pre carb version. As well as a new spout.

Since the new spout comes with a new gasket, Ill probably just buy that. Can't hurt having an extra around. I hear that these spouts are notorious for vanishing.

Now this company seems to make everything from Nato styled pre carb jerry cans, and a lot of other really cool stuf including new gaskets!!!! I highly suggest everyone take a brief look at their site. And yes I realize they are in South Africa.

You could always have it shipped to some in another state that allows it, then have them forward it to you!!.. A little extra cost in shipping, but it beats the alternative of not being able to get them!

Now who do we know in some government-and-authority-hating state like Oregon, in the region's biggest concentration of survivalists and cabin-dwelling wannabe-unabombers in the rural southwest part of the state? Where you can buy bulk gunpowder in the local Walmart? Hmmmmm? :finger:
