Anyone have a chainsaw or some other cutting implement?

I'll be bringing my reciprocating saw, but it's also not a bad idea to have something with some gas power.

Does anyone think I'm going to have a problem running out of gas? I've asked a couple people who've been to TECORE before... But it's on my mind, so I threw it out there. If anyone has the ability to carry extra gas, I'd be willing to fill the cans!!!!

What's your range?

I doubt it unless you're going to get 5 mpg. I burned 13 gallons and averaged roughly 8.5 mpg wheeling last time. But there is an opportunity to get fuel on Saturday mid-day because we go back through town to get to another area.

I really really doubt it.

We did 120 miles on location, with an opportunity for filling up in the middle of that.

I've been getting in the low 13's on the road. Sometimes mid, sometimes low. I have no idea what my MPG off road will be. I don't do much "city" driving. It's either a mix, or all highway. I just know it gets Seriously thirsty when I find the loud pedal. I went through a tank in about 4 hrs of running it hard on the Silver Lake Sand Dunes.... But I rarely stopped and was running it HARD.

I'm glad to hear about the potential for a Saterday fill up.

You'll prob be fine. You have the large tank in the SS, right?

We're going to try to do a longer trip this time, but I still don't forsee gas issues. Normally I think I'm around half tank on Sunday.

Looking forward for the longer trip by the way.

And this shin-dig is basically 2 days away now. Getting extra excited.

They say it holds 22 gallons. Even with the light on and below the E line, I've never gotten more than 19.4 to go in...

I was gonna say, you probably need about a gallon to run.

My truck is 25 gallons, but one time my dad and I ran out of gas in the gas station parking lot, and only 23.5 gallons went in.

You've got a similar set-up to us, and even running the truck for a bit in the morning to warm myself up, we barely dipped below half before we stopped for gas with the group on Saturday. Just a thought if you are worried, we get a noticeable increase in mpgs when we use yummy ethanol-free gas. You may want to do a quick google search of the area and fill up with ethanol-free before hitting the trails. The place the group stopped at on Saturday last time has ethanol free too.
