PLANNING: TECORE IX - FUGAWI HUNTING - Sept. 20-22

Checked my 4WD and did a once over on the truck today. Packing and going back to school tomorrow. I'm bringing my kitchen crate but don't really have anywhere to secure my stove. Don't really want it in the back seat and it doesn't fit in the tool box.

Hopefully either Mike Bossier, JD, or v7guy will be nice enough to let me bum their stoves. Or I can just eat my Raman noodles raw

Aren't camp fires coals good for that. Hahaha.

LOL, worst case, I could throw my pot on the coals and boil some water that way. We actually boiled some beer soaked hot dogs like that on TECORE 8.

The one time I only bring one means by which to cook I forgot the gas line! The fire was a fine substitute. I made a bag to hold the everything and I place in inside so as not to forget it again.

As fas as camp fires are we required to keep the fire off the ground in GWSF? I have a portable fire pit I could bring, it's about 2.5' or 3' square.

Nah, we usually do a big fire on the ground, generally speaking we use existing spots... that whole tread lightly thing. Frequently we cook our food in portable camp stoves, but I've been known to toss a can of beans or what not on the edge of the fire.

Most fire rings people build are too small, we built a nice one at T7.

with the number of people we may be having the power line field might be a really good spot despite there being a cell signal there. There was tons of room and a big ole fire was easy to make.
