Need Your Opinion...

I am looking at two different tires, stock size, and in a all terrain style tire. Mainly want to keep stock size for fuel mileage, as this is still a every day driver and a family vehicle, and an all terrain for the same reasons. The tires I am looking at are:

Nitto Terra Grappler A/T


Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10


What are your opinions of these tires? Any personal experiance with these, or know of anyone that has run them? Which would you choose? I cant decide between the two, and price isn't a big deal as they are less than $20 difference per tire.

I was thinking of something clever to say but it didn't seem right. I don't have any experience with either of these tires but hopefully someone else that does will chime in.

Well I just got some Hankook Dynapros for Christmas. I can't tell you which one is better cause I have barely used the Hankooks and I have never used Nitto tires.

I just put a set of Nexen Roadian AT II (245/65R17)on my TB and I am thoroughly pleased so far. I will get some pics eventually to show where I tested them out as long as you don't mind cell phone pics. They work great and look a lot better than those bare stock continentals I had. I got them mounted and balanced for $511 after tax.

Both of those look good to me... I dunno about the Roadians... Do you have any pics of them close-up? The tread looks somewhat lacking.

Here's the tread on my General Grabbers. Nice and deep (that's what she said) but still quiet on the road. OP I would really look into these, there cheap but pretty good IMO, from having them for 2 days.

Have had good experiences w the grabbers myself. Hear good things about the nitto as well.

The General Grabber AT2 reminds me alot of the BFG all terrain. Any negative effects from them? I know the earlier design was a little futile, didnt hold together well, and had a problem with the side wall being fairly weak.

None so far from me. But I've literally only been to the store one time and the bar one time. I still have that factory line on the tread.

Wow that is an amazing close-up shot... I've heard good things about the grabbers, but do yourself a favor and grab them in 255/70/16 or even 265/75/16... you should just need to trim the ball joint a little, and they'll look awesome

The closest size they have to stock for me is a 245/70/17, which is a 30" tall tire. Shouldnt affect the speedometer to much, and it is about $30 cheaper per tire. Looks like we have another canidate!!

So you have 17" wheels?

yeap, I have the EXT model, meaning my stock wheels are 17"

Yeah, my bad... I meant 265/70/16, and since you have 17" wheels, the biggest you could go would be 245/70/17.

I've heard the Nittos are pretty good (been thinking about them too), but you might have to search around to get the size you need (it's far more common to find them in 34" or bigger than 32" or smaller)
