CV half shaft won't remove from wheel bearing

G80, GU6, GT4, GT5, WTF? This section is for gearing and driveline stuff.

Any tips on what to do? It came out of the 4WD disconnect fine, but it's seriously jammed up in the bearing and no amount of work I've done has gotten it off yet.

big hammer! lucky the cv shaft sticks way out and gives a nice target!

Each side of my truck is on its 3rd cv axle so I've had pratice!

would coating them with anti-seize help at all?

That's what I usually do, I only put it on the splines not the threads. It seems to help me, I usually have no trouble at all gettin those to let loose.

Ams oil products bumper to bumper, Treadwright Guard Dogs, 3 inch suspension lift, 3 inch body lift 1.5" spacers, swaybar trashcan mod, quad headlight mod

Ive never had to coat a cv shaft splines in anti- seize. A BFH has always freed it up out of the hub bearings, and I live in the rust belt. Wouldn't hurt anything to do it, but I don't see it necessary.

I have never HAD to, before I coated the splines two whacks from a good size hammer always got it done. I decided to try anti sieze and it is so much easier that now I just use it.

for future note, just make sure you leave the nut on a few threads(if the axle is good) before you whack it.
