Gear Ratio Calculator and Tire Size Calculator!

Thanks to the hard work of Jeff (Shdwdrgn), we have two very useful new articles.

A Gear Ratio Calculator, and our own Tire Size Calculator.

I have already found them to be helpful in the time we've been developing them. Hopefully you'll find the same.

You will find permanent links to them in the "Wheels/Tires" area of the forum.

Any thoughts for improvement will be considered, so leave them here.

I was taking a look at it earlier too. Pretty nifty. I like that it included 4.56 and you could change that too.

Glad you all like it. We need to start referring noobies to them too, as they need more assistance in choosing tire diameters and what-not for their gearing.

I got tired of using the windows calculator the other day for oddball sizes and wrote a quick conversion for my desktop, nothing as fancy as this though.

If only the tire calculator could give us an speedometer reading like the tacoma one I've been using that was linked in the orgina l tire calculator thread. But I assume that one is for Tacoma's.

Basically it give you the speedometer difference as you go or down in tire size. I know there is a math forumla you've posted around here someone.

It currently displays the percentage difference, but doesn't put it into tabular form. I figure you're all smart enough to figure it out for a given speed, given the percent difference.

We'll look into it, might be able to add a little something into the code to help a bit more.

are you talking about something that takes rim width, backspace, offset etc and tells you how much more your new rim will stick out further than your old rim?

Yes. I also think It might be a good idea to have a thread section(if we can) under the Gear Ratio Calcuator so disscussion about Gear Ratios can be in one spot.
