Lift Plans

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

I don't get it. I barely noticed a difference switching to the Z71 springs. I think I mostly noticed it when we used to drive over speed bumps regularly in our old neighborhood.
Once lifted 03 Trailblazer on 35's, gave it up to travel the USA with my family.

Maybe you got one of the weak sets that will collapse as a couple have???

I used to drive downtown crappy potholed streets and county roads in my commute with them. Had it been all county roads, I prolly would not have minded them as much. I just truly do not see why people think everyone needs them. Most should just run dual spacers if they want more lift and keep the better ride quality. Not many around here actually load up enough to need them.

Maybe the stiffness is just a matter of perceived perception.

Huh...

My experience, having had 4 different rear springs sets, is they are stiff.

I would suggest the 3" purely because it's one piece with cheap replacement bushings, with the multiple pieces of the 2.5" some people have had issues with squeaking.

That's not the lift, that's the extra curricular activities that happen when you and the Misses find yourselves out in the middle of no where and don't expect anyone to be casually driving by anytime soon... :awesome: :safe:

I like the ride with the Z71s.

Z71 springs are progressive springs. Factory springs are not. Z71's improve ride quality. Very much unlike what 89 springs do to the front. I don't think I've ever seen anyone say they didn't like the Z71's because they're too stiff.

Speaking from experience with this platform....

Z71 ruined my ride quality so I ditched them. I do not advise anyone to get them. If you want lift or weight carrying, they may be ok, but I despised the stiff ride they gave me when I DD the truck.

So far the Skyjacker coils have done great for me.

I've driven Josh's truck plenty of times before and after lift and Z71's and have ridden in it a million times. When we went to Mario's house to lift his truck, with floor jack and all my tools and everything in the back, you felt the weight, And when riding home with tire carrier, same floor jack and all the tools in the back, and 2 spare tires, the truck still rode great. And I even like the way it rides empty with Z71's. It's way better than how squishy it is stock. I drive my grandparents places in their 2005 Envoy, which is really nice, but has the squishy factory ride, which I hate.

So yes, I am speaking from experience with the platform.
