What did you do to your GMT today?

Sometimes we do things that don't really need a new thread, mainly because they aren't asking for help. They are like "I did this, here it is, here's some pics, later" type posts. GMTNation has a thread like this. I think it is well received and works well so I thought I would try it here.

LED mod on the dash lights. After 8 hours, the dash, headlight switch, 4x4 switch, rear wiper switch, and rear HVAC switch are now blue. Still have to do the door switches, and front HVAC switch. Doors will be done in stages. Front HVAC switch will be done when I replace the radio. Also painted the needle hubs dark silver. Looking into getting an ORTB sticker made up for the gauge cluster. Looking into putting it on the TACH in between the numbers. Needs to be about 1.75 inches long.

We're replacing the crap BDS bushings on the front shocks since one is pretty much in shredded pieces....And then talking with our fabricator about custom rock sliders to be done this week.

So... Since we live by the code of: "No pics, or it didn't happen.", here are shots of my dash upgrade. I didnt put in any pics of the lights. The best way to see it is at night, and in person. A camera doesn't do it justice. There are plenty of good shots of the blue LED's on GMTNation. They're under the LED Mod Thread. I also wanted to paint the Bezel around the gauges, and still will. The only problem is the plastic cover is glued to the bezel, and I was in no mood to mess with it last night.

Today I decided to fix my upper front shock bushing after they failed. They actually failed back on our road trip in August.... opps....

How bad is that? :facepalm:

God I know better, laziness is costly.

So I did some machining with the help of my father in law to come up with a temporary fix

Haha.....got pulled over driven home from reg's. house doin 8 over the posted speed limit. Also got a breathalyzer (sp?) test. Haha. First time ever and passed with a .003.

Worked on an idea I've had for about a year. The Curt Mfg front hitch gave me an idea for the mounting point, which has been my hangup on the project. I plan to make a grille guard that mounts to the frame, in a style similar to the Waag guard where it doesn't wrap underneath the vehicle. Right now this is obviously too thin for the mounting brackets, going to use what I got for the time being and then build heavy brackets and other components. Hardware will be Grade 8 1/2" with each of the front bars being bolted rather than welded.

Had a nice day, today, even if it was a little chilly. Didn't really have much to do, to the TrailBlazer, except for a throttle body cleaning. Came out pretty well. The biggest pain of the whole process came from not pulling one of the right fuses, for the PCM reset. Rectified that, and everything else was butter.

Also, while I was at AutoZone, picking up random stuff, I decided I needed a new license plate frame. My Cleveland Browns frame was on its last leg, and looking pretty nasty. Yeah, yeah... I'm a Browns fan. I'm originally from NE Ohio, up until about three years ago. Anyway, I couldn't decide between barbed wire, skulls, light-up skulls, or Hello Kitty. That's when I came across the make-your-own-message frame. It was a little goofy, but hey, why not? I'm going to eventually move the ORTB.COM to the bottom, since I realized I'll be able to spell out OffroadTB.com. Then I'll move the Conner299 to the top.
