Well 2 days after being mildly disappointed by the difficulty of the trail in Ocala, I decided to try another place that is about half the distance (dont ask why I didnt try it first). Now this place has a reputation as the local "mudding holes" place. Well it hasn't rained here in a few weeks so I figure I might actually get some enjoyable wheeling conditions. This place was much more my style when it's not flooded with mud. I actually needed my 4wd for alot of it. Alot of whoops down the trails, still some residual mud in some of them. A few places with standing water, but the one that got me was the trail that turned into water much like that spot in Coyote Canyon before they rerouted it. Only difference is I could'nt see how far it goes. Lucky for me the underlaying surface of that water trail was wet sand and not mud, so traction was not a problem. I probably ventured in about 60 yds before it just kept getting too deep for my liking.
After I backtracked I found a few more easy trails and one spot that opened up into a real nice area where I decided to stop for lunch. Then I found a spot where the land dropped right into a lake and there was no 30 feet of muck before you hit water as FL usually has.
A little bit further down that trail I come across 2 F-150s with all the passengers standing outside of the trucks. I ask if they need help and they sure as shit do. The red truck was up to the floorboards in muck that was already in a trough. The green truck was called to rescue the red truck. So when the green tried to get around it to pull it out, it got stuck up on a fallen tree. Their way to solve this problem was to try and shoot through the log... with a 410 shot gun... :shoot: Oh did I mention these were some good ol' boys who were out huntin hogs? Now I'm from the south, but even I had hard times understanding these guys. Anyways, they were REAL impressed with how well equipped I was and I'm pretty sure I finalzed their christmas list. I decided the best method was to free the rescue truck and let him do what ever he was gonna do. So i use my highlift + lift mate + offroad base to get up his back driver tire. I then hook my truck up to the 20 ft log that he was on and pull it out from under his truck. He hooks up to the red truck (who's 4wd went out) with an actual recovery strap. I was impressed he didn't have a chain. Well his few snatches proved ineffective. So i said "hang on, I got something for that too!" Jack up one of his tires and put one of my SmittyBuilt element boards under that tire and then kinda just stick the other one in front of the other tire. Next snatch, truck jumped out that hole. They were real grateful and tried to offer me cash. I told them I'm just paying it forward.
Anyways. Here's the pics. None of the recovery effort though.

Don't critique my video too much. I made it in about 4 minutes. I literally just picked 2 random songs for the music. So i know they might not fit or make sense, and frankley I dont care.... 'Merica

That applies among offroaders like you and me. For shotgunning-chain-saw redneck Deliverance barbarians ..... take their money. :zombie: And don't turn your back on 'em as you depart. :safari:

Yeah, the more you travel the more you realize how small the world is. Never hurts to be friendly. Never hurts to be prepared for the worst either.

Heading out to the same location today, only for a quick run. Decided I should fire up the SPOT again. Feel free to track my progress and know where to dispatch the "Roadie Recovery Vehicle".
