Scepter Cans are Back!

Looks like Scepter came out with a "Jeep style" jerry can that's CARB compliant!

Caviat: No more 3-handles, and may or may not be as durable... We will find out...

And there are multiple complaint about the spouts. I don't know what's the deal with these newer spouts that make it a pain to use them, that's why I rarely use my metal jerrycan (I use it if I know I'm going to be far away from a fuel station, but I prefer buying overpriced gas in CA or Vegas instead of dealing with a can for highway trips).

I'm leaning heavily towards the "Not for fuel use" NATO cans that happen to have a gasoline-resistant lining.

You can always do like James does with his CARB steel can and just use a super siphon with it. This would be the complaint for all the new spouts, not just these, as well. I'll probably buy a couple and see how they compare to my .mil Scepter can.

That would be the other option too. Those NATO spouts probably won't have issues, since they are "not for fuel", but I'm not exactly sure how legal that is in California.

Actually, the more I look around, turns out the spouts really are shit, and the dimensions aren't exactly the same as the old Scepter or the metal jerry cans.

And those might be molded with a similar sidewall, but they aren't the "throw them out of helicopters" strength units.

Sucks about the spout, but I do have the super siphon. The difference in size is not a big deal since we could make the dual can holder work with them.

Yep, the wedco CARB spout is just absolute crap. Doesn't even fit into the TB tank hole, I tried it once and got gas all over me. Another example of over-regulation.

Which one do you have James? is it the short plastic one with a shutoff valve that is almost impossible to operate?

Do you guys have any experience with these things? $75 with the nozzle... not cheap. But I've seen a lot worse pricewise.
