William, have any details on that rear tire carrier? Looks different from anything else I've seen.

The pit in the pictures is to make room for the foundation for a new pumping station. The hole is 25 feet deep and 100 foot by 500 foot, including the trench area. It's a bit tricky digging the hole as the natural water level is only about 9 foot down, the hole is right next to the other reservoirs, and the ground is made of very porous sand. We have 3 bilge pumps constantly going to keep the ground dry enough to keep the excavators from bogging up. A whole work day can be lost if a pump or two clogs up with sand.
Finally, on the way home from the U.P. I stopped at my other grandma's house to find them blowing up the street with dynamite!!! Man that stuff is powerful! I felt it through the trucks suspension a block away!

Did you notice if there was any huge rubber mats around that road that my have been placed on it for the blast? If not, that is a pretty amazing shot, not to mention ballsy as all hell.

its just something that i put together at work. real simple and it works for now. it doesn't slide down so i can open the hatch but i can open the glass and that's good enough for me at the moment. ill post a few pics of it in a bit for ya.

they are also over the allotted "17 inch max size" for offroad vehicles with under 34 inch tires

I just used rustolium with 6" foam rollers. Pretty gentle texture so i wont scrape the shit out of myself when i bump up against it.
