I found this "locker"....wondered if anyone has tried it. Maybe someone with experience in aftermarket lockers can chime in and offer some insight?

It's a GM 8 in. AAM TruTrac locker. It looks like it is supposed to fit an 8 in. rear end. My only concern is that I've never heard of it so I'm a little weary of its functionality.

Maybe I'm just immature, but I read the title thinking "anybody with an 8 inch what?" All about curb appeal on the topic. Good job, mate.

It's not a locker. It's a gear based LSD. This comes up about once every couple months.

anyone actually have one (true trac) that could say it's good enough to actually move the truck when one wheel is off the ground.

I've seen them work first hand in the fronts on some rigs. If you lift a tire, yes, you can get power to the other side by braking. The problem is that you've now increased the torque required to move the other 3 tires as well. So what you have is a balancing act.

A good solution for mud/snow and dead stock street manners. Honestly, in our trucks, I don't think there'd be an appreciable difference between it and a No-Slip on the street.

$499 for the TrueTrac + master install kit + gear setup from a shop is over a grand. That's a used 8.6" and a No-Slip plus $$. All for something that you have to monkey with the brake pedal to get to work... and still 28 spline axles. I'd pass on our platform.

I think the best market for these is in front axles. Too bad there isn't enough room in our front diffs for one. I could see CVs/disconnect parts holding together much longer with one of these on 35s.
