Dana 44 Swap

G80, GU6, GT4, GT5, WTF? This section is for gearing and driveline stuff.

Did you get the 65 or 67" wide semi float 14 bolt? Keeping the front full width?

Altho the lock right is ok, I would run a spartan (heavier duty) or a full locker. Lock rights just don't seem to last in the rear.

I don't know, they would be better than stock, but you are getting close to the cost of a 60... I have seen sf14 e lockers, factory take outs on ebay for about 400. This has been a while tho.

Another note, military cucv trucks came with a 14ff rear with a detroit and 4.56 gears.

How much does he want for the pair? Might be worth buying both, then selling the front. If you can recoup enough.

That's about what they are going for out here too. Figure that rear is worth 500, front worth 1k.

Meh I just bought the axle shafts and e locker. Only other option was to get a d60 and have a similar cost.

I think that is why a lot of folks talk about a SAS but very few do it. It is a major investment and a lot of work to do right.
It would be cheaper/easier to buy a Yota or Jeep and build it up but then you wouldn't be one of only a handful in the world to have done it.

I think this one is a D44 SF14 bolt... but it wasn't built to offroad.

I'm at about 700 for the rear, and 1900 in the front (so far).
