OMF Beadlocks

A buddy of mine recommended OMF Bead lock rims to me the other day. After checking out their site, I haven't found any pricing...You need to locate and contact a dealer for that. For now, I found the rims I think i'll be going with. Color combinations can be customized, and they have a large variety of rim designs. This is what I want:

I'll go with a 17in rim with black interior and a military green ring to match my tb once I paint it this summer, and 295/70/17 Nitto Trail Grappler M/t. The purchase won't be made until mid summer after my summer job pay kicks in. I thought I would just throw it up here anyways to get opinions and also to show you guys their site.

I thought only fake beadlocks were DOT approved for highway use. Are these fake or real?

Beadlocks can be dot approved. At least here they can.

I have to ask...does your mission demand beadlocks? Its alot of extra weight if not. I could not justify the weight penalty vs need or I would have some.

You can purchase either bead locks or sim u lock rims. In Connecticut there is no law against bead locks, but I would go with the sim u locks. I still haven't heard back from them, I'm not expecting to hear back till Monday. As far as mission goes, I suppose I don't really need sim u lock rims. Agreed that they are pretty heavy, but I just love the way they look...even though I usually do function over form. I'll keep them as one of a few options, if the price is ridiculous, I'll just go with something different.

Ditto. I looked into the Staun Internal Beadlocks when they first came out, that have some run-flat capability as well, and couldn't justify them for the $200-250 cost. They basically let you go to 12 PSI with less worry. Well, I already can crawl stuff that curls my hair with 16-18 PSI, and traction is sometimes the limiting factor. But FAR more often, ground clearance is the limiting factor, and 12 PSI makes that problem worse by an inch or two. Bad tradeoff.
