Not to beat this to death but...
Painted black wheels make everyone think you were too cheap to buy good wheels. Makes people think ...where else did you cut corners...cheap straps, crappy lift, will he make it cutting corners to save a few dollars on decent wheels? I dont dislike all black wheels but painted black wheels invoke images of offroad ricer to me.
Or they saved that money for recovery gear or something with a mechanical benefit. Ricers = looks. Chrome = looks. You hang out with too many dainty Jeep guys who are afraid of body damage.
Not cheaper...
Neither aluminum is more easy to repair.
I don't like the look of black..some do but I do not see any reason besides aesthetics that one is better.
Once the aluminum is repaired, you'll need to have those rechromed unless you want a big old splotch of bare metal. A black wheel gets a shot of paint. Cheaper. "Well I don't care if one of my wheels is missing a big patch of chrome and looks like hell." Then why buy them in the first place?
The warranty issue makes everything make a little more sense. And yes, it's all about appearance, which matters zero. But you were the one who came out swinging in this and every post I've seen you make about wheels. Why the hate?
