Well It has been a while since I posted on here so I figured I'd post and let everyone know what I've been having fun with!

Long story short, hydro lock. 2 Bent rods, drove it for about 1000 miles until I finally decided I should probably pull and rebuild it.

I will get some pictures up of the reinstallation when it's done. Stupid me forgot to take pictures on the way out, but oh well.

This is a good time to get that front end locker and rebuild my disconnect too. :fro:

while you have it out go ahead and re-gear, especially if you have the 3.42 like me.

Coming back, and reviving our plans for the TB. Moved from Va Beach, VA to St. Pete, FL which set back a ton of plans. I recently sold my Audi last month and just started ordering some parts for the TB. The Sway Bar links where shot, so just today I replaced them with SMaxx endlinks, I have a BDS 2inch on the way and ordered a set of 245/70/17 General Grabber AT's which should be here by Thurs/Fri. Some other things are in the works. Doubly jealous/inspired by Jame's photos on his blog of his trip out west. That's our dream right there. Explore the USA in the Trailblazer. Also happens to be our plates XPLR USA

=) I figured I'd post, I mostly lurk since I find everything I need to ask when I use that search button.

I'm not in a Trailblazer anymore, but I'm taking a serious look at coming back. I was a member over at the other site before whatever it was went down. I rushed into it and bought an 04 TB 2WD back in 2005, and decided I needed a 4WD a few years later. I traded the TB for a ZR2 Blazer plus cash and it's been great to me. I really regret getting rid of the Trailblazer. It was the best vehicle I've ever owned and I enjoyed driving it more than anything. I've decided it's time for the Blazer to come off the road for a SAS and V8 swap. It looks like I'll be getting orders to Denver or going as a civilian in a few months and I'm looking more at an expedition style, comfortable off road rig that's also going to be easy to drive back to Ohio on leave, which the ZR2 is surely not. Right now I'm looking at the Trailblazer, 4Runner Trail and Xterra Pro 4X. I think that's enough out of me for now. I'll be around, looking at ideas and talking myself into pulling the trigger on the right Trailblazer. Hope you guys don't mind if I post some pictures in here.

The bay on Camp Lejeune shortly after I bought it:

On the tank trails the day I decided I wanted something with 4WD. This is the last picture I took before the trade:

Driving the new ZR2 home:

Couldn't wait to get it stuck. New tires are next:

Out at Uwharrie and pretty much how it looks now:

This thing climbed right up every trail at Uwharrie. I watched Jeeps struggle and fail in areas that I drove right through. It's been a great truck, but it doesn't suit my needs any more. Looking forward to getting back into a Trailblazer and getting out on some trips.

Cool. Welcome! Still doing the SAS + an everyday/expo driver? Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Guess I didn't really explain that clearly now that I go back and look at it. The Zr2 is coming off the road for a SAS and will likely never see anything but the trailer or trails again.

I'm looking to get something else that I can drive comfortably while still getting out to the middle of nowhere. My wife hates anything more than dirt roads so I don't need the zr2 on our camping trips. She hates that thing anyways, and I don't think an SAS will help that any.

So plans are SAS and V8 for the Zr2 for my type of off roading, and Trailblazer or something similar for family "off road" trips. Your Trailblazer is actually a step in the direction I'd want to take with it, though you're farther than I'd likely ever get. Nice truck man.

JD's truck is further than most would likely get. But it's always good to have an image for a goal that you may think is out of reach... but to quote Lowe's here... "Never stop improving". Now that I'm getting my truck where I want it performance wise, Im going to start upgrading it's "liveability". Organizing the cargo area, RTT, winch, lights, RAM mount, etc.

Now that I have another vehicle to fulfill my crawling needs, I find my thoughts are headed in the same direction as James too. Especially since I still DD this pig.
