Accuracy of Fuel Used in DIC

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Not sure if all the tbs have it but in the DIC on my 06 LT it keeps track of how many gallons of fuel I used to the nearest tenth gallon.
Have people generally regarded this as an accurate reading?
If this is so, on a 205 mile trip averaging about 63 (hard to do) I averaged between 20.8-21.1 mpg... the small window is depending on how worn down my tires are. So if this is accurate, slowing down really does help, comparing it my 18 or so at 75ish

I haven't paid much attention to the fuel used in the dic, I know I get the best mileage at 64-67 mph, anything faster and it starts going down. I have 3.42 gears in that one.

It's generally regarded that you get the best fuel economy between 45-60 mph.
I know with my 3.42 gears and 33"s... I'm averaging 15-17mpg highway and 9-12 city.

Always new slowing down would help, but I was surprised by how much.
