Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Tough time choosing new wheels and size...

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

Have my tax return burning a hole in my pocket and im finally going to splurge on myself for once and do some more upgrades. New wheels and tires! Im figuring around 1k for everything if I go with some treadwrights. Everyone seems to be liking them for quality and trail effectiveness. Now rim options.... Im torn between sizes in rims, in my past I've always kicked myself for not going a size larger since it always looked better to a certain degree. But that was because wheel gap was the devil in a tuner car. New ball game now....soo, I've looked at nearly everyones build threads and still feel torn...

Procomp (not sure which width is better, 17x8(9)?)

Sorry posting from an Ipad is a pain in the ass sometimes, it never let's me type as much as I want. But I am just looking for thoughts on options and sizes. I think I remember hardtrailz saying he wishes he could have went with 17x8 instead of the 9's. Things like that, thanks in advance guys.

Yea I checked out the Atx punishers but couldn't find them in a comfortable price range to stay on target. Ive found all of these no more than $131/ wheel.

dont think you are going to be able to fit 255 or 265 on a 9" rim, wouldnt be a good idea IMHO, like the rim as I am looking at the same thing as well, offset is -6mm IIRC and that is turning me away

I am probably going to pick these up, saw them last night and they have a good offset +25mm, I like your style  Good luck and let us know what you end up getting and pics are always a good way to show them off

I figure once i get my rig performing the way I want, I'll worry about appearance later.
Shiney trucks looks cool, but I think scratched/dented trucks look better (thats my excuse and i'm stickin to it)

Not worried about scratching them, another reason for matte black, easier to touch up. The procomps come in a 17x8 with 4.5"hole backspace and 0 offset. I could always jump to the 265/70 series. Only figured the 255/75 for extra clearance. This is more of a daily driver than weekend explorer. Hard to find people to go play with except jeeps. So I can only get out a handful or two handfuls a year. But our winters are usually pretty shitty.... except for this year.

Wheels. The finishes of them do not hold up and their warranty process is difficult. My supposedly powdercoated aluminum wheels rusted. My buddies faux beadlocks oxidized in a couple months. They told is both tough shit but I did finally get through to someone and got new wheels . As nice as they look new I would not buy them again.

Well that's all I needed to hear to steer clear from those then, they will be driven in winter and I'm not going to shell out coin for something that is not going to hold up. The other wheels I have looked at I felt to be a "cheaper" wheel which ultimately would end up with a horrid finish after a winter or two....

The V-Tec has a black chrome version similar to the AR that I have. I didn't go with the V-tech as they wheren't in production at the time I needed to replace my stockers and the AR were the only other option I could find. I like either one and may look back at the V-tech for an 8 lug option later as the AR have been discontinued.
