Can you elaborate? I think we've attempted to do that sort of thing with the sticky threads.

I can look into a star rating system for threads. Phpbb may have that plugin available.

Such as with the Favorites list we compile when we observe a link we want to save for later use. Not a listing of threads on this site, we have that and like you point out. The sticky's are pinned as subject matter for the members.

More of an alphabetical list for members to add to aside from the threads started by them for related sites to this forum. If we find a cool subject, site, info, maker,place or idea and so on, we can start the thread and if we choose to add the link to this list for our members. Many sites I've gone to within threads started here but then forgot them because the thread is buried somewhere. This would only be a list for reference and possibly help in cross searching older threads.

I see now, good idea!

For now, why don't you start it as a running thread in the off-road forum. Lay out the ground rules (no discussion, etc). Post up links with a description and maybe a picture. I'm sure we can populate something good. If it really takes off, we can draw on the data that will get compiled, and create an article or separate database.

We'll sticky it once you create it.
