New 16"wheels

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

by djthumper » Fri Dec 16, 2011 8:19 pm

Well I have been saving up to replace my wheels since I just had to buy tires in July a little earlier than expected I had to put it off. I had been on the hunt for 16" wheels and kind of keeping an eye for some deals. Monday I went to discount tires to show someone the wheels I was looking at and came across a hell of a bargain on MBMotors wheels that had been discontinued 4 years ago. I guess the turned up in the manufacturers warehouse. I was checking availability online and was ready to place the order when I decided to call the local stores to get more info. They all told me there was none in their system and they could not order them. I tried to send emails and make other calls and kept either being ignored or not getting a return reply. I was ready to just give up on it and pissed since it was on the website and remembered Matt from Discount Tires on the OS. Since i am on global ignore over there I went looking to see if there was an email to contact him with and I found it. I emailed him last night and this morning he verified my vehicle information 10 minutes later I had an email back telling me that the are available but the store needed to contact the manufacturer for the order not through their system. So i went into the store armed with this information this afternoon and ordered 5 of them. There appears to be quite a few in the warehouse at this time and I will have them Monday.

Sorry for it being a little long winded but I wanted to share my experience with one of the forum reps. I did tell him about GMTN and he is passing it on to the person in charge of forum sponsorship.

Here is the link to the wheels MBMotors Rocker

How much extra offset is the 25mm difference from stock. I am currently running 31"s but want to upgrade to 33"s. I know about the balljoint issue and am wondering if I would be able to throw some 33"s without needing spacers. I am running the McMaster lift with Z71s and BDS 5500s.

I ran 32s with a knobby shoulder and had enough room to fit my thumb with 25mm offset wheels. I think you could get a 33 with a fairly square shoulder in there alright.

Stock wheels are 60mm offset.

I know I could definitely run 32s with the tires I have right now. As fish said depending on the 33s you could get away with it. I will have to take some measurements but I think it moved them out just a shade over .5" away from the knuckle.

Sweet rims and excellent price! Wow! It just sucks that I can't get these rims where I'm living now (Saudi Arabia)! they don't ship internationally and even if they do they just kill my dream with shipping quotes reaching up to $700 and more :S

At least they are not chrome. I did not really want chrome and did not what solid black. I have done my fair share of painting camo and wheels. :finger:

So I ended up getting a set of 4 rims with mounting, balancing, new valve stems, and new lug nuts for $344.24 and a $30 Visa card rebate. Good by me. Others should jump on this as well.
