I also did the 8.6" swap with the Powertrax No-slip. Love it. Took 15 min to install the locker in the open 8.6" and about 3 hours to swap the whole rear end out. Well worth it IMHO.

Since we're on this subject - I've heard the vehicle will drive a bit differently. Have either of you noticed any difference between an open and the no-slip?

I can tell its there on turns if its wet out, very ocassionally if I have to make a sharp turn right after a stop sign or something. The inside wheel will scrub a little, but otherwise I don't notice.
Also I have not driven in snow with it yet, so I'll see how it acts on road once it does snow here. I don't drive like an idiot anyway so shouldn't be too much difference.

Snow driving is pretty easy, though admittedly most of my snow driving hasn't been on pavement.

The junkyards can also do a simple physical test for the locker - just hold one hub from moving, and rotate the other side with a snap. It's easy to get up enough RPM difference in half a revolution to engage the locker and the side you're turning will halt. You can also find the gear ratio of mystery axles this way, by turning the pinion input and doing the math.

Nick, you have an 07, I expect it has traction control like my 06. Does it seem to matter with the aftermarket locker?
I usually turn traction control off anyway when I'm offroad.

Don't really know. I ended up getting a rear from a 05' so it didn't have the sensors in the axle. I just pulled the ABS fuse I believe. Always turned that off everytime I got into the TB anyway.

The wheel sensors will just see the wheels on either axle turning at the same speed. It may not try to kick in as often.

mine hardly ever does anyway, but that makes sense. it all turns off in 4lo anyway
