Window Vent Rain Deflector (Removal)

My first order of business is to remove some plastic rain deflectors that came with the TB we recently purchased.

So it appears that the plastic rain deflectors are held on with double sided tape. Could probably just gently pull these off with no problem, however my question really resides in how to properly remove any glue residue without scratching or affecting the paint?

Would a product like GooGone work for this situation? Any success stories?

I know this seems like a novice question but any thoughts/recommendations are appreciated.

Have had mine on for 3 years now, haven't tried/had the need to remove them, but if were to I'd apply heat (hair dryer, etc) since its colder out and see if they loosen a bit. But most likely use a piece of fishing line, as I did with the badges. And then yes, clean up with goo gone. Goo gone took the remaining glue/tape off that the badges left.

Don't worry about scratches, you'll get plenty if you're wheeling your vehicle. Take a plastic putty knife and go to town.

Putty knives come in plastic? I use a dull chisel on residual glue that fails to come off with a wood rasp.

Heat gun and a nice tug will get the guards and most residue in one shot. Goo gone will take care of the rest.

Used Goo Gone on my Moms sunroof visor residue it is Goo God

Strangely enough...peanut butter. But use creamy, not chunky...Ha. Seriously, the oil in peanut butter does a really good job on adhesive residue.

I've found the chunky works much better with my sandwiches.
