Fuel Economy

I'm sure if I took a few hours I could find some numbers in random threads, but I'd like to have it in one place.

What is everyone getting fuel economy wise? What have you done that has changed yours? (Intake, exhaust, lift, bumpers, gearing, etc.)

I ask mostly because of my pathetic fuel economy. Highway cruising around 70-75 last weekend got me 15.4 mpg. My truck is pretty much stock, minus the resonator, and some plastic molding here and there. At the time I had thule cross bars with a bike rack I put together. Throttle body was cleaned and plugs replaced ~15,000 miles ago. Normal fluids changes.

Actually, given some recent discussions elsewhere, just come back when you're modified.

The OS is the better venue for talking about loss of fuel economy, because it's not strictly speaking an OFFROAD issue, but more importantly, there's many more people discussing it and they may have more ideas than the smaller community here.

Well I posted here, besides hating the OS, because of the off road aspect. You guys are modding them and still using them as DD's. A big reason I haven't gone and done the mods I want yet are because of fuel economy (that and getting laid off...). Some people have mods done and are getting the same or better mileage than I am, some are getting worse. I'm curious what is factoring into this.

My friends mustang he has had for 10 years and gets great mpg but it's doesn't burn much gas behind a tow truck. That is where it has got most if miles I avoid Ford like the plague.

SASed on 44s.

Seriously, though. I get decent mpgs. It's paid off in 2 months, then I will go bigger and get myself a little pocket rocket for commuting. That'll solve any mileage issues created. I would've posted this in the sticky thread, but it would've seemed irrelevant to the conversation.

I think outside of a good Tstat, temp sensor, plugs, O2 sensor and a clean air filter and throttle body about the only other thing we can do to help mileage is watch how we drive.
