I think they are all having a hard time getting their orders for springs fulfilled. It is really hard to say now.

Why don't you do an intro thread? Then you won't be so much of a stranger to everyone.

Thank you djthumper. i have been on the os for a couple of years. i will do an intro this evening when i have more time. i did find a chart with all specs for the moog universal coil springs ( there are alot of choices) but cant find specs for the 88 87 86 s other than spring rate. if we had all the specs i bet we can find moog ones that will work for our applications as another option.

Hello!

Here is a master spring chart, but you're right, it doesn't have spring wire diameter or any of the usual data you need to evaluate coils to see if they'll fit. I had a talk with the King Spring AU folks at SEMA, and their Oregon distributor is a sympathetic soul since he is involved in the lift community for Subarus, and knew the owner of the "Superu" lifted Outback that I emailed a few times back in the day of no aftermarket support for us. King would be willing to wind some custom ones for our community as soon as I can measure them up. But finding already-developed products out there like from Moog would be much cheaper and more available. I'll try to measure mine up. I have 4-5 different kinds of takeoffs.

Front:
Spring#,Rate(N/mm),Check Load(N),Free Length(mm),Label Color
81, 50, 6820, 418.8, Lavender
82, 53, 7240, 417.0, Dark Green

86, 67, 8646, 409.6, Orange

88, 74, 9331, 406.8, Light Green
89, 77, 9674, 405.5, Tan

From numbers I gathered on the OS, as well as some of my own calculations. Our front springs are 16"ish in height, and 88s are 420ish lbs/in. Inner coil diamater is 3.5inches.

This is all off the top of my head I can look things up again after I get back to the office. Maybe I'll stop by my old place and grab my stockers today.

I stumbled across some springs on Napa's website that may come close just have to cross reference them. They were around $144 each

James that pic of your truck made me drool!

I'm Running 255/70/16 Pumas right now in the rear and love them! they're an BFG A/T retreaded.
Was wondering what kind of mpg you were getting now a days with the front bumper and the other work.

What on earth does that have to do with springs and associated lift?

Before the compnine site went down I started to make a list of all the codes by part number. I had only finished 81, 82 and 83 before they took that info down.

All I can tell you is that you don't have 81, 82, or 83s.

Tried going thru the whole thread and didn't see any info on mine. '05 man date of 10/04 RPO code of 6HR/7HR so same both sides. Went to the Chevy dealer right down the road and had the parts guy look it up said they are 84's so if the OP is still being updated, there's another for you.

Using Keith's method, just call the local Chevy house, I gave the Parts guy the last 8 of my VIN...he gave me the data on my left and right front springs. I have 6DF and 7DC; which is 15125885 and 15125884.

Wow Greg, you have the highest spring rates I've seen yet from the factory.

I BELIEVE that's what I had as well RPO wise. I'll look when I get a sec.

Another one to add to the list.

6AA-7AA = 82's

I'm planning on going to 86's so I can expect 1.25" of lift.

Thanks for the info James!

Just looked at my RPO codes... BOTH of my front ones are 81s... No wonder as soon as I put the 33s on, I lost my passenger wheel well liner on the first trail!

Useless waste of plastic. They make it harder to pressure wash the sides of the engine going in from the wheel well.

agreed. btw, bill that desert mud was a bitch to wash off! Like you said, it was practically concrete. Took 30 min with a pressure washer before a brush ever touched the truck.
