Wanted to give an update.

Drove the TB about 450 miles this weekend, with 60 miles off pavement. Beating on it pretty good I didnt find any weaknesses, yet.

But, my sealed up vents behind the rear tires cause the seal around the rear lift gate to hiss like a blown tire with the HVAC fan on high. Can only hear it from outside.

1st leg, 107 miles, all freeway, 11.77mpg
2nd leg, 140 miles, freeway with 60 miles off-pavement, 9.8mpg

I havent figured the remaining 190 mile freeway leg home yet.

Planning some tweeks to the tune, TCC lockup is in and out with the cruise set at 75, Id like it to stay locked up better.

I believe you have the smaller fuel tank? Might be worth swapping to the later model 21.7? gallon tank with those numbers

Of course... But I'm sure getting 160 miles to a tank is annoying

Ive got about 200 on this tank now, and needs filled.

But, on the larger tank, Id like to know where the extra capacity was added. The only place I can afford it, is added on to the tail end of the tank.

The front is against the t-case, side limited by d-line, bottom is not an option...

I know the back of mine is right at the axle, and the front of it is not too far behind the trans crossmember...

The front of mine is 17" behind the back of the trans crossmember, the rear is inline with the top of the stock coils buckets.

Maybe I need to look at an ext tank? Which would be longer at the rear?

Well my crawler project is progressing into more.

After living in it for 3 days hunting, its time to condense, organize, and get more setup for the expo type situations.

I had removed the rear headrests before the trip for space. Now that Im back, I ditched the drivers side rear seat bottom (replaced hinge pins with removable pins while there). Condensed all my recovery gear into a toolbox and strapped down into the newly available space.

Next was tools, they got a new box and strapped to the floor on the passenger side in front of the rear seat.

Hi-lift jack was also moved out of the cargo area, it now lays on the floor inside the passenger doors, base in the rear door opening, and top end in the front passenger door opening.

I still have 2 totes (hunting and camping) to put in behind driver, then my water jug against the back of passenger rear seat. (The jug is a pain, OBW coming soon!)

This is all in preperation before I leave saturday on a 350 mile trip (one way) to Boise, with the wife, daughter, and my 2 dogs. Along with all my hunting and camping gear, as thats what I will be doing for 10 days. (wife, daughter, and dogs will be staying in Boise while I hunt)

Ha, Boise is almost drivable for me if I'd have known!

I carry around 4-5 people too often to be able to actually use passenger space for much of anything. :(

I wanted quad headlights, and my driving lights on with the high beams. But as wired on the OS, anytime the headlights were on, the driving lights were on.

This is a modified version of copied intructions as it was posted on the OS to fit my application and desired end results.

Parts needed: 2 diodes. Available @ radio shack # IN4004 1 amp Diodes,400V,30amp max return voltage. .99 - 1.99 for pkg of 2

This is all done in the Body Control Module (BCM) under the drivers side rear seat.

1) Disconnect Battery. This can be done at the BCM, 13mm socket.

2) Open up cover on BCM, uplug the upper and lower harnesses.

3) Find the Black/White wire in the lower harness, (High Beams) and splice the end of both diodes (silver or striped end) into this wire.
*Note, if you dont have driving lights, use only 1 diode.

4) Find the Pink/White wire in the lower harness, (Headlights) and splice one of the diodes into this wire.

5) Find the Green/White wire in the upper harness, (Driving lights) and splice the other diodes into this wire.
*Note, if you dont have driving lights, skip this step.

6) Shirink wrap or tape up all bare wires.

7) Plug harnesses back in and reconnect battery.

8) Test.

This will allow normal operation of driving lights when the headlights are in the off, park, or low beam switch settings.

When high beams are selected, both the low beams and driving lights will also come on. (or stay on if previously selected.)

Found out the hard way, if you overheat the trans, it will go into some form of limp mode. No overdrive, or cruise control.

Newly added temp gauge, fluid cooler, pan drain plug, fluid change and I'm back up and running.

I swear this trans won't last another year at this rate.

That's cool!

Update on trans, seems fine, but even with the new cooler (7.5x12.5) I still had it up to 250 degrees today. Ill add a small electric fan in front of it when I get home in a week.

Over 1000 miles logged in the last 2 weeks, broke a rear brakeline, and winch controller box mount, over temped trans, and developed a new t-case issue.

Brake line, easy, fixed.
Control box, new mount when new bumper gets built.
Trans, cooler added, stays around 110 on freeway, will add electric fan for low speed stuff.
T-case, Have a spare, will swap out when time allows.

Still being used a a daily driver! Last tank was 13mpg, 6700lbs, picked up 2mpg by not using cruise control.

You're getting better gas mileage than I am... I'm down to 11.5 for some reason. Maybe time for another O2...

I worry mine is too cold at 140-150.
