Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Inner tie rod thread size (rack side)

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Can someone with 16mm tie rods pull out their trail spare and measure the threads on the rack side of the inner?

I want to convert my 14mm setup to 16mm and hoping it's an easy swap. RockAuto discontinued my cheap 14mm inners.

If it's not an easy changeover then I guess it's time to start shopping for an EXT rack.

It's not an easy swap. The rack is different. Greg's got a 2002 with 14mm, and tried to upgrade.

Has he tried swapping racks, or just tie rods?

Just the tie rods. He might have done the rack by now, but he's been away from the site for a while and I haven't seen him to wheel with.

That's an interesting design change GM made. That must have been spurred by a testing failure late in their design cycle.
