Well not exactly right now, but it will be coming this fall/winter.

Looking for ideas that people have. I have some good ideas, but more input is always welcome.

Just remember my axles are pushed out each direction, along with no factory bumpers.

are you keeping the full top?
are you having a full exo or some type of hybridwith some of the skeleton inside the body and some outside?

I seem to recall one on jeepforum that was real clean partially inside and partially outside.

Full exo on mine.

I looked close at the interior, and everything is shaped around heads, shouders, etc. There just isnt a good way to do a cage, and keep passengers from hitting heads on it.

I will have tube bumpers front and rear tied into the sliders via fender hoops. Then a full cage on top, crossbar below windshield, and even a rear tire carrier.


Down the road:
If I get crazy and end up wheeling without doors, it may get some crossbars for harnesses, and an X to stiffen the cage behind the rear seat.

Rear door bars will be removable for family style wheeling.

I have a sketch that is very similar to that sitting on my PC... I based mine off a standard Blazer cage I've seen in person. He ran double verticals behind the B pillar though, which I may do since we are kinda long.

I would love to do a permanent vertical bar between the doors, but it just wont fit...

I know of some good tube clamps that will allow me to remove that section though.

Rear view:

For the tire carrier to open, you must pull the 2 pink pins at the top, and the 2 blue pins on either side. It will swing open to either side.

Rear is cool, but I have to ask - are the top pins necessary?

Front is a bit off to me. A stinger? I don't doubt that you may in-fact use yours, however your wheels are so far forward, you'd have to make it really stick out to be useful. Not a big fan. Also - why have the bars through the center of the headlight beams? Raise those suckers up and put it inline with the front hood lip.

The side view isn't bad, as long as you plan to stick some gusseting in here and there. You may be planning for this, but not shown it, but I'd find a way to tie the exo into the roof here and there with some mounting plates and bolts. This will help strengthen your exo in the case of a rollover.

This is going to be awesome. :thumright:

Top pins are to help distribute the load from a rollover off of the upper rear corners and down through the rear gate. Should help preven the whole cage from going from || to // in a hard roll. But no, not necessary.

Front stinger is more to protect the hood from crushing the radiator and fan shroud in a rollover, than to prevent a forward flop. As far as the headlight bars, they will be about even with the hood-headlight seam. My headlights are aimed down pretty good, and this shouldnt block any usable light.

I have considered tying the cage into the roof, but I would want to replace all the body bushings with solid ones. Right now the body moves, but the cage wont. Gussets will be worked in as needed.
