Well I have bugged the hell out of em for months, and it seems they are ready to give up some news, good, bad, or otherwise. It seems in the next few weeks we "may" be able to finally get some fender flares, which is required in states like Ca for the MODS I want to do. So we shall see, just wanted to update you guys.

Same here, I have searched high and low with no result. They didn't say they were going to produce a product, only that they would have news but it does kinda sound promising. Maybe we finally made enough noise to say em our way.

I have told them what we are looking for and what our Tb's are running ie. spacers and lifts and bumpers and everything they have needed to do it right. So if they F-it up it's all on them.

My source said they will have an announcement mid August. Hopefully you guys are happy with what they've cooked up. It would be great to have a product like that offered to our vehicles.

Let's just hope our group doesn't cheapen out like we always do.

How many people will really buy a set of $400 flares?

Will they be a 1 1/2" version or a 3" or 4" cutout style? Cant cut the rear, its a door. Im betting you guys end up with a product that covers about 1 3/4" and fits stock fenders.

If you look at the product trends, they offer a cut out style front for a chevy truck, but not a tahoe where the rear door is the fender.

The only way to get a fender flare that will cover large tires with a spacer will be cutting up a set of flares for a different application.

I for one will jump all over a set if they are only $400. I will be expecting closer to $800 initially...

Anyways, as long as the front are cut outs and the rear will accomodate our door similar to the jeep version and they offer a 3 or 4 piece rear so that if we drop the rear bumper we can still use the body section separate from the rear bumper piece, I see no reason why we couldn't cut out the rear of the fender area and use longer arms to take advantage of more space w/o having to touch the door.

I may be missing something as to why we wouldn't want to do this. I'll have to take a look when i'm working on the TB this weekend. Maybe you have some input on this beings you've already modifed yours further than anyone else.

I can see the cutout fronts, but I dont see them making a flare that you have to use longer rear arms to allow larger tires to fit.

Im guessing they will be similar install to the grand cherokee, but only with minor trimming behind the rear the tire. ZJ only loses about 1.5" behind the tire (but they also lose that in the front of the rear tire as well.) Our rigs cant be trimmed in front of the rear tire.
Install link: http://www.bushwacker.com/Instructions/10916_r2.pdf

The cut-out flare line was developed to use a bigger tire on a stock rig. When lifted there are too many variables that they cant account for.

So flares designed for 31s or 32s stock may be the final prduct.

Also, ZJ cut out flares add 2" of tire coverage. You can almost do that with the flexible rubber flares from JC whitney.

The bushwacker red grand cherokee is sporting 5" of lift and 33s, it warns in the directions that bigger tires than stock may not fit.

Grand cherokee flares run at about $500 for the set. I dont see why ours would be any different.

I sized them up once and they should fit. I parked next to a Cherokee that had them and the owner let me do a few quick "measurements", meaning I had no tape measure. I had a bit of a hiatus from being lifted and have been concentrating on getting back to where I was before, but zj flares are on the list. I guarantee that production flares for our platform will be glorified north face flares at best. When the time comes, I am going to hold out for a used set, just in case it is a failure.

$100...$200...$400...$800...

All too much for pieces of plastic which I will promptly break on something... or chew up with a tire.

Then again, cops don't hassle me and my stickie outie tires...

There was some discussion about possibly using these in the rear at one point, but no one has sprang for a pair to test. Understandable when they may be special order in some area's so if they don't work you may be eating some costs to find out.

Where I live you can't leave the driveway without the copers gitting ya for your stickie outie tires.
