z71 spring and shocks ebay seller

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

Hi folks, being the tightwad that I am, I keep watching ebay for a great price on tahoe springs and keep looking to see if a seller will package the springs and shocks together at a good price. I've contacted a couple of the more popular sellers but they don't respond.

I saw a new seller(wildwest0111) recently and he was very responsive, I asked him about a package deal for springs and shocks and it seems he is working on it. I told him I would mention him on here for you guys to keep a look out. His springs are running about the same price as everyone else, below is his latest email to me.

I explained in a later email that the springs would lift our TB about 1.5-2 inches and that folks kept and eye out on them and if he could package it and we could save some money that might give him a competitive advantage over the other folks.

*********
I'm trying to figure shipping fees that reflect my actual cost, with no handling or extra charge figured in. I've priced shipping for the shocks at $20 for USPS Parcel Post and $25 for UPS Ground. For the springs, based on the weight, I figured $35 for Parcel Post and $50 for UPS Ground. So, if my math is correct, adding the "buy it now" prices and economy parcel post shipping fees would total $116 for the pair of shocks and springs. About 20 bucks more for UPS shipping. Does that sound like a reasonable deal to you?

The owner of the dealership here recently purchased a large quantity of these new "take off" suspension parts, mostly off new Tahoes and Silverados, including HD shocks, springs, front and rear sway bars, brush guards, skid plates and factory running boards. Also, a bunch of rear dome lights. In addition, there are some parts off new Jeep Wrangler Rubicons as well.

I'm a new employee here and I was given the job of opening ebay and craigslist accounts in order to put the parts up for sale. I hope to eventually open a store on ebay as I "learn the ropes".. :-)

Our website is www.wildwestchevrolet.com and my personal email address here is wildwestchevy@hotmail.com. If you know of anyone on the forums you mentioned who would be interested in any of these items, I'd truly appreciate it if you could point them in my direction.

Thanks again!

I found this set for $14 plus shipping.
Roadie lists needing this part number "15234633" the seller has a different part number of "25978750".
I'm assuming it is the wrong spring, am I missing something?

ok, answered my own question :-)

viewtopic.php?f=15&t=20

looks like they will both work. Curious why they wouldn't have the same part number.

I think I'm going to order them now.

Are you going to have a rear spacer + the springs? If so, forget the GM shocks, you should probably go with something longer, like BDS.

Thanks James, I'm going to take the spacer out for now. Mine is only 3/4 inch anyway.
If I have any probs with them topping out I'll get a set of BDS or skyjacker H7030.
They have almost 90k already so it is about time to change anyway.

The 4633 spring has been replaced. 8750 is the current part number.

Yea those shocks are crap. Replace them when possible, mine lasted all of a couple months before leaking and when I replaced them with BDS the ride was soo much better.

But good deal on the springs!

I've not had any problems with mine but 99% of the time my truck is on the highway.
The other time is mostly on the beach, a logging road or the back of a field somewhere.

With a z71 set, wouldn't you have to get a leveling kit for it? I'm not sure if the rear would be outrageously high in the back or not...

when you put the Z71 springs and shocks on your TB, that jacks up the rear 1.5-2 inches. What about the front? do you need a front leveling kit in addition to that?

I had the rough country leveling kit(got a deal on it used). It was 2 inches in the front and about .75 in the rear. It almost looks like I have a little negative rake now but it might be that I am so used to the rake. I want a little rake on it and a little more support for the rear for towing the boat and camping gear. I've thought about trying to find a .5 in top spacer to pick up the front a little more as well. I'll keep tweaking till I get it like I want as the funds allow.

Now is there anyway to do longer springs/shocks in the front just like the rear without any type of lift kit to gain height? Me and josh are trying to explore all options for his TB, the Z71 springs/shocks are very cost effective but that leaves the front at factory height.

Have you read the "factory springs" thread yet?

I think most folks have the "83" stock front springs. If you upgrade to the "88" that will only give you about 1 inch of lift in the front. those springs will run you about $110 shipped.
The Z71 springs unless you get them on a deal are about $60 shipped.
That puts you at $170 for only about 1 inch of lift in the front.

If you are in a hurry and don't want to watch the classifieds I think Mark's lift is about $255 shipped and will net you over 2.5 inches in the front and about 2 inches in the rear.

A lot of folks go this route then later when they start adding a heavy recovery bumper they will go back and get the 88/Z71 springs (because the 87's are hard to get) for the front.

If you are like most, go with the biggest lift you can to start with. Even with 2 inches in the front my wife was like "I thought you lifted the TB" :-)

I bought mine from this seller over a year ago, $45+s/h for the springs only. I installed the BDS lift and shocks, all I needed were the new springs.

yeah, they play with the shipping vs cost angle to try to get a wider audience I think.
They seem to usually run between about $55 and $65 shipped. There are some for $75 shipped most of the time.

That, and Ebay is now charging a shipping fee too, so some sellers have to recover it.

yeah I dont understand that. Ive sold a few painted RC bodies on there and not only do I have to pay my listing fee and the fee based on how much it sold for, I also have to pay a shipping fee. Im shipping it not them.
