I like the antenna install. Still not sure I would like the mic cord hanging like that.

With all the other stuff going into this build, there really isnt a better place for the CB. I wont be able to see out the back window when its complete, so the cord in the mirror shouldnt bother me.

I thought about mounting it low, but then I would still need to add an external speaker since the sound would be absorbed into the carpet.

I stopped in at the scales the other day, total weight of 4520, (no fuel, driver, or spare tire)

Front axle 2620 lbs
Rear axle 1900 lbs

It is not seeing out or in the mirror, it is the swinging cord hanging down by my had and catching my eye that I wouldn't want.

Daily driving it is easy to unplug the mic, for trails the mic is usually in my hand, so it dont swing much either way.

Just like anything, its easy to adjust to.

You can probably remote-mount the mic too. It's only what, 3, 4 wires?

everytime I read this thread and see that mic cord hanging down I keep thinking it could use a little lemon pledge.
then I think about if folks saw pics of the inside of my TB they might think the same thing

Just out of curiosity, why did you mount your sliders like that? Leaves the first ~16" of your rocker, unprotected...

If you look under there, the plastic is the only thing that makes the down angle at the front and back. The rocker is actually flat. I typically just cut the bottom of the plastic at the front and back even with the middle, and nestle the sliders right up to the body...

Gotcha... You going to fill in under the rocker with another 90-deg piece of tube?

I'm not sure yet, at the least probably be another leg back to the frame. We will see how it goes.

Cool... Not knocking at all, just throwing ideas out... and I only piont it out because most of my deep scrapes on the under side of the sliders have been at the front part of them, right behind the front wheels, from coming down off of a rock...

Its all good, I tend to kill sliders about 2 feet back under the door. I will be taller than most and the main goal of these is to keep my doors opening.

Ill bet the sliders will end up with 6 legs per side. Also, these are the 78" sliders, rear end is mounted 2" behind the rear door edge. The front is even with the back of the fender.
