Tire fit question

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

by steveroche » Fri Apr 08, 2011 12:56 pm

I found a set of 4 tires on craigslist but im not sure if they will fit or not. I have the BDS Lift and 1.5in wheel spacers. The tire size is: 32X11.50R15LT 1130 M+S also Rims 15x8, bolt spacing 5 1/4.

On a side note, if i buy the 3inch body lift would that get those to fit, or is the bolt spacing off?
Thanks

Guaranteed your spacer bolt spacing is different from those wheels, and you won't save enough on the tires to make up for all the hassle. You would also need a new spare. I'd pass.

I've not measured it myself but I seem to recall some folks saying that most 15 inch rims weren't large enough to fit the brake calipers so you might want to check into that if you keep looking.

I'm not 100% sure but I thought that issue was on the LWB ext; not the SWB.

SWB with v8 have the larger brakes also.

15 inch rims are a delicate fit on any tb. I have some research posted around if you really want to know about fitting some.

Im running 15s. I currently have 15x10 with 3.75" backspacing. If i had 3.74" they wouldnt fit. Running these rims with 33x12.5s Hankook DynaproMTs- they stick out pretty wide. I have another set that are 15x8 with 3.75bs which im hoping to run in the near future.

Its doable but its gonna be snug

I think you mean if they had more than 3.75 they wont fit... 3.5 is what my bs is. Rim material and thickness is an issue as well. I don't think 3.75 bs would work with my aluminum 15s.

I'd be terrified about brake caliper expansion when hot, when you have to use feeler gauges to measure your rim clearance.

I know plenty of jeep guys that grind their calipers to fit wheels. Never seen them have an issue...
