Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Has anyone installed a larger fuel tank?

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

Has anyone thought of using a second tank in the spare tire location? Since larger tires won't fit, it would be available space.

Thought yes. Able to justify the cost for a once a year usage...no. cheaper to carry a 5 gal can on big trips.
I hate to advocate weird chemicals, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...but
they've always worked for me.

That is going to be what I am going to do when I get the funds. I am thinking that a Jeep YJ fuel tank with armor would work perfect for that spot. But funds plus me still being in Afghan right now makes it hard to look at and or take measurements.

I'm going to put in a 20 gallon polyethylene water tank (with armor) where the spare used to be. Someday.

Check out the 4 door s10 blazer. tanks. Its what I use behind the rear axle in toyotas. They measure something like 34 x 22 x 10.

Just like the tank in the '89 2-door S-10 Blazer that I had... Get it loaded with a pump and everything (used to transfer to main fuel tank, as the later TBs are returnless fuel systems) brand new, for like $175, last I bought one...

Oops, I meant 2 door or early 4 door.

Yep that's exactly what I was thinking!

Interesting idea using a S-10 blazer tank, I just happen to have one ready to haul to the junk yard, guess I need to remove a few more parts before I let it go. It is a 20gal tank though, but might be worth playing with.
