Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

Got my rims done and new tires.

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

Ok well they are not as bad ass as battlemode's new tires but hey, what you gonna do for a $600 set of tires right?

The rims are the 17 x 7.5 polished six star rims from a Denali (sp?) I picked up last fall for $75. The clear coat was chipping in a couple spots and was nasty where the wheel weights were, so I sanded and painted them. Here is the finished result curing before they get mounted this Wed. They were a little bling bling for my taste, so I went with a dark gunmetal gray color since everyone and their dog is running black wheels around here.

I also went to get my tires and the tire shop had a set of new take offs from a Jeep Rubicon. Same tire I was there to buy anyway, BFG Mud Terrain KMs 255/75 17. Less than 100 miles if that much, they still have the mold overflashing on the tread. He said "$600", I said "ring it up." :excited:

Will update the build page when they get mounted.

Crazy the variability of those tire's cost. When I purchased mine (same tire) they were $102 per tire. It was $550 for 5 tires shipped.

My first 4 from an eBay vendor in Philladelphia, $75 a tire picked up. My spare which I bought months later cost me $125, I think.

Yup the cheapest quote I could find including online was from Discount Tire, $1,038 with mount, balance, and taxes. So with mount at $64.00 tomorrow it will be right around $700 total. Under $800 with the rims. I am looking for another rim to mount my spare onto.

Wow, no kidding about tire volatility... Battlemode's KM2's used to be $145 each, now they're pushing $175!
