Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

A little advice please

BDS, ReadyLift, Smaxx... You name it, we know about it here.

This may come off sort of noobish but I need your opinions. As I presume I am the oldest as stock suspension member of this forum and I have waited 2 years now to get lifted and have yet to have the funds. Now, I have a full time job, a part time job, and the National Guard so I'm not having to scrounge pennies just to pay bills anymore. My question to you all is should I buy what required little by little or wait and get it all at once? I know I'll need the lift, new shocks, possible new strut mounts, spacers, and a new alignment to get lifted and rolling and tires will just have to come later on. What do you guys suggest?

Buy parts at whatever speed your finances allow. Install them all at once though.

Well if your just getting this, at least do the lift and shocks, if needed strut mounts. Any time you lift you should also get aligned so that should just be included in the total cost.

Since you also said your waiting on tires its fine if you don't get the spacers til then so I'd say wait on them, but do the rest on your list.

Then when you purchase tires get spacers to clear the ball joint. My .02...

I'd say wait and build up a fund. You might find your ideas change a few months down the road. Or your idea on parts, or a sale might come up.

A lot of people squash that idea, but as someone whose owned modified about everything he owned, I can think of dozens of times I made purchases hastily.

Plan it out, figure out the costs and set a clear goal. Buying one part at a time and living paycheck to paycheck isn't fun. But taking 2000 dollars and going shopping, finding the best deals is a lot more fun.

I want to spend my Christmas and birthday money on it. My paychecks yield me enough money to pay my bills and then some which I am saving for emergencies and considering investing.

Wise decision. Just don't invest it in an IRA or 401(k)
