I turn 16 in like 11 days and I'm gettin our blazer and I wanted some cheap ideas to give the TB a good off-road look.

Sadly cheap and the objective of this site don't really mix.

Best I can say is, get a good job, save up money for repairs first - then after you have a good cash cushion, get some basic recovery gear and explore off road. THEN begin your modifications.

We're also not really after the off-road "look"... more after the off-road function.

Take a box cutter and cut the bumper covers and wheel well liners for more clearance/better approach/departure angles. I have a thread on here somewhere...

Also, check craigslist for free stuff... you never know what can pop up.

Often a brush guard is the first step in the wrong direction. Unless you need a place to mount extra lights, it's eventually money down the drain.

If you get one - don't get a brush guard that mounts under the bumper, ONLY get the WAAG as it mounts through the bumper and doesn't kill your clearance. However, the WAAG isn't cheap by any means and you'd be better off getting a bumper from Mike for half the cost. I learned this lesson early on - just trying to pass on the knowledge.

Yeah... he sold me the WAAG when he went out and bought a steel bumper.

I ran the WAAG for a while until I sold it and went out and bought a steel bumper. The new owner is on here somewhere I think. Maybe he'll run it for a while and then upgrade too, keep the WAAG cycling.

No one can ever accuse our group of not recycling. Is there anyone on here that DOESN'T have parts that were once on another member's truck?

You need one of these!!

Then you need to get ahold of Mike, here is a link to his bumpers viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1105 .. Like James said, its going to be roughly the same price as a brush gaurd so you might as well do it right the first time.

Now I fit in. ;)

"Good offroad look"

6 SIMPLE STEPS

1. BRUSH GUARD
2. REMOVE SPARE TIRE MOUNT ON ROOF
3. WRAP ENTIRE TRUCK IN CAMO OR PAINT IF CHEAPER
4. REMOVE RUNNING BOARDS
5. 4" 4X4 STICKERS ON BOTH SIDES
6. BUY FAKE MUD IN SPRAY BOTTLE (AUTOZONE USE TO SELL IT)

And just like that you have a Mall ready offroad-look-alike Trailblazer..... :slap:
