I have hooked lines as well but I have plenty of d shackles as well as non hooked lines, I had it happen to me with the back hatch open and rear seats folded down the line snapped my friends tow point and came flying back and hit my passenger seat, sadly we learn these things after we use dangerous techniques, but that looks like fun, and winch buddy might be nice to have join ya, PM me in advance I'd live to join you guys out there
