245/70-17 BFG All Terrain W/O Spacers...

Need new shoes? This is the place to discuss.

After my sidewall Charlie Foxtrot, I decided to go with some load range E AT tires... Got a set of the BFG All Terrains in 10-ply (load range E) 245/70-17... 1" larger than stock, but I probably picked up 3/4" ground clearance, due to less sidewall sag...

There's right at 1/4" between the tire and the ball joint...

I really liked the Destination AT, and would have gotten them again if they were available in this size or the stock size in a D or an E rated, but they're "standard load" in both sizes... My dad has them in a D on his truck, and they're great, but no such luck for this sizing...

Looks great Mike!

I may have a couple of Destination AT's if you are interested in putting together a complete set on steel rims for sale.

Depends on what you want for them... I want to get $200 out of what I've got, so it depends on how much you want, vs. how much more I could get out of a full set... PM me when you get a chance....

Thanks,

Thanks! Elisabeth specifically sent me a text today to tell me they looked shit hot...

A hair louder than the Destination ATs, but not as loud as the wind noise (and this thing doesn't have much wind noise)

Hell, the Destination MTs on my truck are as loud as the 12-valve Cummins and wind noise combined!

Just an update, these are AWESOME in the snow! Better, even than the Destination ATs that they replaced (when they were new)!

Yeah, I saw them on at TECORE, and dug the size... See my thread on cutting M/T tires for snow, though...

maybe check the sliders on your rear brake callipers. You could be getting more braking from one side. Have you done an alignment? Do you have a ton of stuff on one side of the rear of your TB?

Drove a couple times today on the sheet ice we had (and are still having), with these tires... Already knew from the rest of this snowy winter that they are really great in the snow (deep, packed, slushy, etc), but they are AMAZING in the sheet ice, too! As a matter of fact, the TB with these tires on it stops better than my LeSabre does with the snow tires on it!

Good deal. My tires did amazing as well. I never used 4x4 and hd no stopping issues.

I am hoping for some decent snow to play in. Head out towards your place and do some drift busting...maybe later this month it will happen.

Up in Marion and Hendrix Counties, the roads were not bad at all... Out by my house, they hadn't been plowed or sanded or anything, and were just a sheet of ice...
