I use almost every fluid they have in anything I own or work on. I have got a lot of people hooked on Amsoil. Plain and simple, they were the first to make full synthetics...they know what they are doing.

I live in temps with very cold winters, and extreme heat in the summer. Amsoil always stands up.

I became a dealer to take advantage of the benefits I am in no way tryin to seek customers on here it's just that I am the only one I know that uses their products and wanted honest opinions, I am thinkin of becoming a vendor for the site if I get enough interest. Other than that I was looking for info on the trans fluid I am thinking of doing a full flush on my TB have you had an used it in yours? I am looking into the low viscosity but am concerned about trail performance do to the low viscosity fuel effeciant formula.

I have not done a full flush. I did drop the pan, and change the filter and have some work done as well. I DID USE THE AMSOIL low viscosity fuel efficient formula to top it back off. The nice thing is the thin stuff from amsoil is still rated higher than the thicker stuff from gm....so I am not too worried. I will admit though even with my 13,000btu trans cooler, on days that are 60+ percent humidity and 34deg c....my trans will run at almost 200F in traffic.

When I do give the trans a full flush (when i remove the corvette servo) I will use mostly Amsoil trans fluid, and the rest will be lucas additive.

I use Amsoil products in most of my vehicles, and have since the late 1970s. Never let me down once... I run hundreds of thousands of miles on my vehicles, basically buying them used then driving them until they are red spots on the driveway. The engines always run good even with 300,000 + miles.

I also do extended drain intervals, typically changing engine oil once every 20-25K miles with a filter change at mid-point.

When I lived in Wisconsin, the difference between Amsoil and regular dino oil became very apparent, as I was able to start and drive away with my F150 (full-time 4x4, locked all around, 550HP 390) in -25* temps. With regular oil I could not move off the spot in conditions like that (if I could even get the 10:1 compression engine turn over!).

I run it everywhere, diffs, transmission, power steering, t-case (not on Trailblazers, only Chevy factory lube -- it is different for the clutches).

I've never worried about doing a special flush. Amsoil is compatible with regular oils so no big deal at all. Just run it.

I would not run the Lucas with the Amsoil. No sense in degrading the already great Amsoil with an additive that changes its properties. Lucas is a good product and has its place (I especially like their power steering product), but I never run any additive with full synthetic. No need. Amsoil lubes better than Lucas right out of the box.

Speaking of the Lucas stuff...

I wouldn't run it at all in a transmission that was in good shape!! I had a temp gauge in the 4L60 in my S-10 Blazer, and after I put in the Lucas stuff to try and get rid of a hang-shift problem I was having, my trans temps went up 20-30 degrees, pretty much instantly... I suspect it was from the additive making the trans fluid thicker and more resistant to flow, and therefore, hotter...

I've used straight GM DEXRON 6 in my trans. Flushed with DEXRON 3.

Elsewhere I use Royal Purple.

Cool thanks for the input guys it is helpful, I Think Iam going to go ahead with the flush I have used it in other vehicles that do alot of towing and they hadn't had any problems as of yet and one of the rigs is used ALOT so I am confident with the product it was more the product with the TB that was the concern. I use extended drain on my TB the first two times I sent in for a sample analysis and I am glad I did because both times with changing the filter at 10,000 and leaving the oil alone after the results from the analysis it was not required to change the fluid untill another 20,000 miles. Now that was an estimate at the rate it was going at the time the sample was taken any changes to the vehicle could viod the estimate. I drove another 17,000 miles and retesed the fluid again with changing the filter at the 10,000 mark and it was still good for around 8,000 more miles. So for a grand total use of 35,000 miles on the same oil. I really got my monies worth. I stand by there products and am very educated o Ams Oil products but am limited to my own experiance with Ams Oil so it is great to hear good feed back. By the way I had just about identical results from my second oil change on my TB in case you guys were woundering. Please feel free to ask any question it would be better to pm me as I may forget that I started this and not check it like I should.

Did Amsoil ever get their full synthetics API certified?? I know for a long time (and a recently as I've heard), their oils (except the XL-7500) couldn't be API certified because they have too much ZDDP in them… ZDDP is good for engine wear, but bad juju for catalytic converters… If your engine doesn't burn hardly any oil, then you're fine using it… If your engine goes through a quart in 3000 miles or less, like some of these do, the ZDDP will kill your converter.

You are correct they are not API certified with the exception of the 7500, however from all the research I have done and from people I have talked to by the time the zddp becomes an issue you are likely to need a cat anyhow, I know in california were im at I have used ams oil for 5 years in my TB and have yet to fail a smog check nor have I seen my pollutants increase to suggest a bad cat. So it is kind of one of those thing were we know it can be bad but to what extent is still unknown. Like I said 5 years running non API cert oil from ams oil with extended drain intervals my TB had 130,000 miles on it and from what I can tell the oil will not be the reason my cat goes out. But I will be the first to let it be known if a problem does come up, as I do not want to sell a product under false facts.

As I said before, if your engine doesn't burn any significant amount of oil, it's not bad for the cat. If it does burn more than, say, a quart in 3000 miles, you may have something to worry about.

I will admit their may very well be something with that, as my TB does not burn any oil really so I am not adding more oil all the time just with the filter change. And like I said based on my experiance it has not caused a problem thus far.

Mobil 1 plus Purolator pure one filter, because I can get it cheap-ish ($5 per quart, sometimes $4 once in a blue moon). All other fluids are GM spec.
