Finally got around to wiring up a power inverter I had. Unit is an Equalizer 1500w/3000w peak. I have no intention of ever running this thing at full blast, so I did not use the suggested 2awg wire to install. Manufacturer also suggests running no longer than 6ft of this 2awg. That would have put the inverter under the dash or in the engine bay, not what I was looking to do.
I mounted the inverter to the side of my sub box on the pass side. I ran a 4awg fused power wire from the power block I already had in the back for the amp. The power block is fed by 4awg wire from the battery. I'm running a 60amp fuse for the inverter currently... not sure if I'd ever need higher. I grounded it at one of the bolts for the rear seat.
