A bottle sterilizer is a device used to sanitize baby bottles, nipples, pacifiers, and other infant feeding equipment by killing harmful bacteria, germs, and pathogens. Sterilizing bottles is important for ensuring that babies, especially newborns with developing immune systems, are not exposed to potentially harmful contaminants that can cause infections or illnesses. These use electric power to generate steam, which effectively kills bacteria. They are convenient because they sterilize multiple bottles at once and are fast, typically taking 5–15 minutes. These use a microwave to heat water and create steam to sterilize bottles. They are compact, making them a good option for those with limited space and are usually quicker than electric sterilizers.

These use ultraviolet (UV) light to kill bacteria, viruses, and germs. They don't require water or steam, making them an alternative to traditional methods. UV sterilizers are often more portable. Although not a device itself, this traditional method involves boiling bottles and feeding accessories in water for a few minutes to sterilize them. These involve dissolving sterilizing tablets or liquids in cold water, where bottles and accessories are submerged for a specified amount of time. Newborns are vulnerable to infections, so sterilization helps protect them. Sterilizers are often quicker and easier than boiling or using chemical solutions. They can sterilize multiple bottles and accessories at once. Sterilizers make the process of keeping baby equipment clean more convenient, giving parents peace of mind about their baby’s health.
