We generally recommend building a rig to last the long haul. That heavily depends on what you're wanting to do with it and where you are wheeling. If it's any sort of real trail, I would prioritize armor pretty high (Radiator/Oil pan skid plates). Tires are very important also. Need to decide if you want all-terrain/mud-terrain. There is mucho informationo on this site to help with that.
A lift would also be helpful. Be sure to do mucho researcho before buying a lift (avoid outside-the-strut kits like the plague)
Start building up recovery gear also (shovels, hi-lift, traction boards, recovery straps(NOT CHAINS), etc.)
