Vibration when accelerating.

So I recently put my 3" markmc lift in as well as new front struts and rear shocks, z71 rear springs and 87 front springs. And accelerating from zero, I guess pretty aggressively but not foot to the floor, to about 25 there is a significant amount of rear wheel vibration, almost like the tires are hopping up and down, once I get going though it drives smoothly from 25 to 110 on the highway..so its only when intially accelerating. Tires aren't loose or anything and it had an alignment. It also doesn't feel like its the transmisson. The only things I can think of being a problem is the suspensions being really stiff.. Im running stock size tires too. Anyone have an idea whats going on?

is it making any noise? My truck displayed similar symptoms once and it ended up being the rear u-joint.

Its not making any noise that i can hear, really. If I hard accelerate the whole truck stars to vibrate and bounce. It sounds liked its coming from the rear wheels. Its only happens at take off though, because after about 25 its smooth all the way up to 110.

Since it's almost impossible for our rear suspensions to suffer from wheelhop like you're describing, there are only a few parts that could give you trouble. U-joints, control arm bushings, and transmission crossmember bushing.

It's probably the rear u-joint.

You might have the same issue in 4wd from the front driveline as well.

Tried it on 4wd and it only vibrated in the rear like before. I was thinking the same thing. The only time it vibrates hard is hard acceleration. But if i were to drive like a normal person the vibration isn't there

I'm also leaning towards a U joint. Try just replacing the caps and needles on the diff side first, they are easy to replace. Some of them need to be burned out if I recall. You should be able to put the truck in neutral and get under there (chock the tires!) and see if there's play at either joint.

The rear u-joint (if it has never been replaced) will required fire. The retaining ring is a molded injection. It's kind of a pain in the ass. If you've never done a u-joint they arent too terrible if you know how to do it. Watch a few vids on the youtube to get you started. Once you get the new one in it'll have a c-clip, and a grease port.

Will do! I have to go back to my mechanic in 500 miles because he wants to check everything and make sure nothing loosened. He said he'd put the massive kit on too. He might as well replace that too. Thanks for the help everyone!
