Let's start off with this, first off thanks for info from this forum lots of help so far. Now about the Trailblazer's, not one but two of them. Started of wife wanted one so we shopped around and found her an 05 lt 4x4 swb all the options 90k on it. I enjoyed driving it so much, i decided to look for one for me. So I found an clean and straight 02 lt 4x4 swb with a rod knocking engine. Guy wanted a running truck so I offered my beat up rusted 91 Toyota 4x4 that i paid 500 for, deal was done. Drove the TB home and picked up the 700$ used engine on the way. I got it home and the project began. Let me tell you I have swapped alot of engines but none as easy as the TB. I took the body off the frame in less then 5 hours, it took longer to swap all the sensors and all the gaskests. Had it apart so why not do them all. Total time in the engine swap was 24 hours could have done it quicker (beer involved). Installed a one inch body lift while it was apart also. Cut blocks out of neoprene and ordered bolts from fastenal. Also cut out the cat and installed a single in dual out muffler. Pics of the project soon to be posted wish I would have taken more pics as I went along. Have a lot more plans for it, lift and tires and much more

Any issue without the cat?

The steering was good with just a 1 inch body lift? How did you raise bumpers? That would be great info to have!

Plan on getting pics up tomorrow. And hardtrailz no issues without the cat I put a spark plug non-fouler drilled out to a 1/2 inch on the rear o2 sensor. No light, no issues. As far as the one inch body lift no steering issues linkage has plenty of room. Did need to extend the lower heater hose as far as the bumpers plastic streches far enough to still cover on the rear, the front has a small gap but hardly noticeable. Spent the day putting avalanche springs and shocks on the rear today plan on ordering the front lift Monday. Rear wheel well measures at 36.5 as compared to the wife's 34. The front measure 33(with stock tires) on both TBs. Wife's kinda upset I'm not lifting hers but told her she got the stereo system for a reason lol.

OK here are some pics not the best but some proof. First pic shows a little gap from fender to bumper cover. Second pic shows the duals and the bumper cover unattached from the frame but still looks normal. #3 pic is the rear o2 with the non-fouler since I took the cat out. #4 is looking above the rear tire you can kinda see the body lift. #5 pic is the body on the lift and frame on the ground this makes life easy to work on it.

Yeah, I used the non-fouler trick, and it worked for a while. That stupid light came on a couple of weeks later. Something about O2 sensor inactivity, hopefully you won't have that issue.

PCMofNC tune seems to have solved it for good though. I highly recommend it!

How did you run the dual exhaust over and past the rear axle?

Like this, I have plenty of clearance around the stock spare(removing it soon) and over the axle. Don't let any muffler shop tell u it cant be done. I do know having the body off made for an easy install and weld up.

The black is a high temp paint so the welds don't rust. Buddy kept goofing off as I was welding it up he would paint a little here and a little there. Beer involved of course, didn't care what he painted as long as the welds got hit first

Sweet. i thought it would be fine if they ran near the pumpkin. I have have some wild quotes on doing it, but think I got a place to bend and run the pipes for 150....$400 plus was the first place and I am providing the tips and muffler.

Just scored a set of 255/75/17 bfg mud terrians on cragar soft8s and adapters for 5 bills worth it IMO. Maybe I need to start a build thread?
