Swapped out my lower control arms yesterday, took about 4 hours altogether. Not sure why I'm hurting so much today. I took my time, and there wasn't anything all that involved is the swap. Ah well. One thing I didn't realize is that the placement of this piece is a major part of the alignment, so I'll make a stop at my tire shop in the morning before work.
Something I can't figure out though... last Fall when they replaced the tires, they showed me they couldn't do an alignment because they could move the tire around and I saw the slack in the ball joint -- yet I could not reproduce that yesterday, nor could I feel any slack in the ball when moving it by hand. And the bushings on both sides still felt pretty snug so I'm sure I could have gone quite awhile longer before they actually needed swapped. Oh well, it's done, and I shouldn't have to worry about them for another 100k. Just have to keep an eye on the upper balls, I'm sure they'll need replaced in the next few years as well.
I was planning on getting some spacers from Mike to level out my front end. Wish I had planned this better, I could have installed those at the same time and only needed to do the alignment once. I have too many projects going on right now to keep everything straight.
