Caleb, admittedly, I was being a bit facetious, I chuckled, so frack it. LOL
The tailshaft housing is the only real difference and you can swap that out without much headache. In the 2WD 4L60E the VSS is in the tailshaft housing while in the 4WD 4L60E it's put on the transfer case.
You can get the transfer case adapter for $50-$60 on ebay and then slap the transfer case of your choice on there.
The 241 comes to mind as the easiest swap since the "late" models have the appropriate VSS hook up. I think 95 and up if I remember correctly.
The computer will need to be programmed for the 4WD and the low range. From my understanding it's relatively simple. But I ain't ever done it.
