Hello from the Ozarks my name is Chuck. Just bought an old 1981 GMC 2500. Main use is to go in the woods and haul firewood. Was doing searches online and found out this truck has a G80 rear end. Going to do some maintenance and pop the differential cover for inspection and oil change. Hope everything looks o.k. Came across the rebuild write up by one of this forum's members. Have it saved in my favorites just in case I need it for any help. On another site a post said it was difficult to rebuild and needed special tools, may as well junk it. Glad I found you guys. Have lots of old logging trails to explore and plenty of fire would too collect. This truck is old but not done yet.

So you're driving an 81 GMC pickup and decided to become a member on an Offroad Trailblazer forum because of our write up for a G80 rebuild?

Sweet. I fear that's about as deep as our assistance may go. Glad to have you, regardless.
