Alright so I knew I had a bad fan clutch just didn't know this could happen basically it sounds so damn fast that the fab exploded send debris all over the engine bay , destroyed the radiator, the power steering lines, the washer fluid resevior and who knows what else and the top of the hood looks like a bullet almost went through it
Wow, that's an impressive failure. Centrifugal forces can be pretty impressive, but I didn't figure it would do that. Out of curiosity, what RPM were you at when it let go? My guess is that it was a bit above idle.
Yeah no one got hurt and I'd say it was about 4-5k rpms, and it not a few parts haha that Bitch went on a rampage basically the entire cooling system got //// and power steering lines and some other shit
I ran my envoy with a bad fan clutch for almost 2 years, sounded like a tractor trailer. I finally changed it out when i put my upgrades on and there were many times i had to hammer on it just to get movin. Seeing your post, im guessing lucky is a proper term for me.

20 extra parts to replace is a "few" when personal injury is a serious risk. As the others said, I'm glad nobody was hurt.
It's not how fast you go. It's how quick you get there. Lifted TBSS Build
Christian, I think when the early clutches failed they slipped, meaning they wouldn't turn like they should. I think the newer ones fail locked which means they spin all the time.

Yeah I am still under warranty With the dealership, if they don't pay for it them I'm going possibly take legal action and my case is they clearly didn't check the fan clutch for proper operation and obviously didn't check the fan for stress cracks, note I bought this vehicle June 19th and haven't gone through deep enough water that could have damaged it... Army legal services is very very good and if they get sued I'm guaranteed to get more than what I may pay for the repair
