Trans went... Maybe... Help!

Ok, as you know( some of you) I got my valve body rebuilt and added some springs to. All went well. It's been shifting really good and I was really happy with it. Then I was driving home from work today at 70mph with the cruise on and my TB out of nowhere seemed like it slipped into neutral. Now I have no movement. Nothing in 4 wheela, hi, lo awd, in all gears. Replaced the transferase, so it's probly not that, my rear diff nor the front made any noise. My trans is makeing no noise either. Now I've done some digging and troubleshooting of my own. What's weired is that the trans fluid doesn't smell burnt, and it's miles high up the dipstick. Now, is it possible the filter fell off? Or did the trans pump quit? Idk... There is no pressure in the trans lines. Took one off my cooler lines off and put it in gear. Nothing came out. Put air to it in both in and out directions and it came out so I don't think it's plugged up. Any help would be awsom!! Thanks in advance

Oil pump went out or the solenoid at the valve body! Did you replace the separator plate or check if it wasn't worn out! Did you replace the springs or added the shift kit?

Rebuilt the valve body and yes put a new separator plate. I'll look for that siloniod

Right after my last tranny rebuild i lost all gears instantly while driving, no transmission engagement at all, the pump broke and the transmission disengaged itself to protect it from burning up. Sounds like what you got going on.

How well did you get that pressure regulator snap ring back in there? That thing was really hard to get seated right. If that fell out, I imagine you would lose power like that. To me, its too coincidental that you just rebuilt the valve and had a failure like that. It doesn't sound like a clutch failure.

Yeah. When I left with it right after the rebuild he said if the snap ring falls off he would just throw another one on, no big thing. He said he only had one come off. The man lives to fix cars so I would trust him. He's a good family friend as well. But there is always that chance. What does that ring do anyway? I do agree with you James.

If you don't get the torque converter in right. You will brake the pump! It's three jump or bumps for it to be in right! Learned from experience.

Dropped the pan... Nothing in it. Filter was a little loose. Pushed it back in there. Filled her up and nothing... damn trailblazer never pulled the trans out... Yet

I'd say that you need to start digging into the valve, but if you're going to bring it to someone else anyways to do the work, why delay?

MONEY... as usuall. But! I can get a trans out of a voy for 250 bucks and just put my Newley rebuilt valve body in that one. To do it cheaper I may drop it myself and deliver it. Or just drag it to his house and help him with it. I need to learn anyway

Would any of the silonoids in the valvebody be bad? With no gears at all I'd assusme something different. Or could it be the pressure control? The TB has been sitting to long. Not sure I'm takeing it in now cuz it's something that I can do.

All of them? That would be something.

No, sorry Nathan, I wasn't implying that more than one solenoid would be bad, was correcting your spelling so it looked proper.

The Solenoids tend to stick some before failure, I would refer you back to James post and start with the valve body beings you know this was the last thing to have been played with. Follow that with Eddie and his suggestion of the pump. Maybe you could do a pressure check on the lines to see if the pump is in fact operating.

Have you talked to the guy that rebuilt the valve body? If he has much experience with them, maybe he has seen this before and can tell you exactly what happened (especially if it is related to the rebuild)?

It could be anything Nathan, you just need to start looking into it. We can throw any number of things at you. The first thing I would check is to drop the valve and ensure nothing is out of place. I'd check the pressure regulator valve too to be sure its in place.

21. No movement in any gear: pump failure, or total loss of fluid. Remove transmission and rebuild, or refill pan and find the leak. If out of fluid, avoid running the engine until the transmission is refilled to avoid pump damage. To check for pump failure, check fluid level with the engine off, then start the engine and recheck fluid level. If level does not go down when engine is running, the pump is broken.

Well, I finally got the chance to rip into it! I had a new baby girl 2 days ago so that put a damper on the project. the flywheel bolts are out and the shafts are out just gotta do the bell housing and the crossmember. Drop the the case and trans a last a whole and replace the pump. I'm sure that's what it is. Thanks for any help you guys have given! I will let you know what happens!

So after hours of trans removal we finally got it down and as it turns out I already have a salvage trans... them we found this

Needles to say it was the pump. My next question is, can I just replace broken parts? If so, what is this part?
