Offroad Trailblazers and Envoys

low brake pedal??????

Trailblazer and Envoy related, but not off-road related...

by Dammann35 » Thu Mar 06, 2014 4:14 pm

About to months ago my service brake system warning came on and I read the codes and it said lost communication on ebcm. Talking to the guys at work they said I need to replace the ebcm, well today at work I finally did and after my abs light was on. I would step on the brake pedal and it would go off, let off the brakes and it would come on. So I asked the guys around the shop and they never seen anything like this. Then on my way home the abs and brake light come on and service brake system warning again and I had a low brake pedal. Anyone ever seen this.

What's your fluid reservoir level and when was the last time the system was thoroughly flushed and bled? Often, people report that you have to go out on gravel and fire off the ABS a few times to get a firm pedal feel after replacing anything.

My fluid level is good. I never had a brake flush from owning the vehical for 30000 miles now but i dont have any abe right now and my pedal slowly goes to the floor when i start to brake. It will slowly slow down the truck.

Not hard to change, if you do the work yourself. Hardest part is bleeding the system. None of it is a biggie.

ADD: You can't drive it that way.

Are sure you did not connect the trans cooler to the break lines and lower the fluid level. ROFL JK

Go back and re-visit everything you had touched for your parts install. Ensure that none of the lines have been pinched off, this would not allow fluid to flow properly. If everything worked prior to the parts install and now your having an issue, that is the place to start.

I'm not going to say a coincidental part failure may not have occurred, but the fact that it was part of the install is more likely.

When i had time at work. I switched out the VSS and replaced the front hub, but while doing so i found out my RF bleeder screw was leaking real slow. Now i have 2 calipers on order from GM for 95 with my discount and i hope it will fix everything.
